The short answer
Choose Zoho Mail if you have a small team, you want email alongside documents, spreadsheets and calendars in one hosted suite, and you do not need IMAP for your own software.
Choose VayloMail if you want a mail server with a dedicated IP that no other customer uses, standard IMAP for your own software, and one price per server rather than per user.

Sending limits and IMAP access
Zoho publishes its sending limits. Its rates and limits page, last updated 13 October 2026, lists 50 to 500 external emails an hour. Zoho sets that figure dynamically, based on sender reputation, recipient engagement and contact quality. Internal email is capped at 1,000 an hour. External recipients per message are capped at 150 on paid plans.
IMAP is a separate question. Zoho's IMAP help page says IMAP access is not available on the free plan. The page does not state a connection limit for paid accounts, so check Zoho's current documentation if concurrent connections matter to you.
VayloMail sets no fixed sending cap and no fixed service-level cap on concurrent IMAP connections. Server, recipient and acceptable-use limits still apply, and capacity depends on the server and workload.
Dedicated IPs
Zoho's help pages for the Zoho Mail SMTP service do not describe a dedicated sending IP for mailbox accounts. Zoho offers dedicated IPs for its sending products instead. Zoho Campaigns, its email marketing service, offers them to senders above a volume threshold of 50,000 emails a week or 100,000 a month, on annual Standard and Professional plans. ZeptoMail, its transactional sending service, reviews requests from high-volume senders.
VayloMail includes a dedicated IP with every server, used by your mail alone.
When Zoho Mail is the better choice
- You have five or fewer users, and you do not need IMAP, POP or ActiveSync for your own software.
- You want email together with documents, spreadsheets, presentations, calendars, file storage and video meetings, in one suite.
- You want Zoho to run the service, and you do not need your own server or dedicated IP.
When VayloMail is the better choice
- You want a mail server and IP that no other customer uses.
- Your own software reads mailboxes over IMAP. Zoho's free plan has no IMAP access, and its sending limits are set per hour.
- You want one flat price per server rather than a price per user.
- You need email on your own domain, and not an office suite.
Questions, answered
Is Zoho Mail free?
Zoho's Mail Free plan is free for up to five users. Each user gets 5 GB, the plan includes custom email for one domain, and from the sixth user every user moves to a paid plan. It is available only in selected data centres, and it does not include IMAP, POP or ActiveSync. Zoho's paid plans are priced per user, so check current pricing.
Does Zoho Mail support IMAP?
On paid plans, yes. Zoho's IMAP help page says the free plan has no IMAP access, so you need a paid plan to connect your own software over IMAP.
Does Zoho Mail give me a dedicated IP?
Zoho's help pages for its SMTP service do not describe one. Zoho's dedicated IPs are offered for its bulk and transactional sending products, which have volume criteria.
What are Zoho's sending limits?
Zoho's rates and limits page, last updated 13 October 2026, lists 50 to 500 external emails an hour, set dynamically, and 1,000 internal emails an hour. External recipients per message are capped at 150 on paid plans. Check the page for the current figures.
Can I move from Zoho Mail to VayloMail?
Migration help is not included with VayloMail. If you are on Zoho's free plan, IMAP is not available, so copying mail over IMAP needs a paid Zoho plan first. Plan the DNS change before you switch your MX records.
