What VayloMail is

VayloMail provides managed dedicated mail servers for email on a domain you already own. Each subscription is one mail server with its own dedicated IP address, used by that customer alone.

Each server offers IMAP (port 993, TLS), SMTP submission (port 587, STARTTLS), ManageSieve for server-side filtering rules (port 4190), and webmail. You can read mail in a browser or in a standard mail client, and connect authorised software to your mailboxes over IMAP.

Who it is for

VayloMail is for people and organisations that want email on their own domain, on a server that is not shared with other customers. It also suits teams that run their own automation over IMAP against mailboxes they are authorised to access.

VayloMail is email only. If you need documents, calendars and video meetings in one subscription, an office suite is a better fit. The technical details page lists the connection details and what is not guaranteed.

How the service is run

VayloMail provisions and manages each server, and provides a customer portal for billing and cancellation. The following are configured as part of the service.

  • Email authentication: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS and reverse DNS are configured on each server.
  • Backups: nightly offsite backups, kept for 14 days.
  • Sending: there is no fixed VayloMail sending cap. Server, recipient and acceptable-use limits apply.

Domain setup

  1. Check out with your contact email and the domain you want to host mail on.
  2. Point the domain’s nameservers at ns1.vaylomail.com and ns2.vaylomail.com.
  3. Your server is usually ready 5 to 15 minutes after checkout, and your login details arrive by email.

DNS propagation can add time before mail works. If you need to keep an existing website, DNS provider or mail service, agree a DNS plan with support before you change anything.

Pricing and billing

VayloMail has one plan: £35 a month, or £315 billed annually. The price is per server, not per mailbox or user. There is no setup fee and no contract.

Payment runs through Stripe. You can cancel from the Stripe customer portal at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and there are no partial-period refunds.

How to contact support

Email support@vaylomail.com with questions about VayloMail, including your server, your setup and the policies.

Terms, acceptable use and privacy

The rules are in three documents:

  • Terms of Service (/terms): the contract, including billing, cancellation and liability.
  • Acceptable use (/aup): the rules on what the service may be used for.
  • Privacy (/privacy): how personal data is handled.

The terms are the contractual source. If this page and the terms differ, the terms apply.

What the service does not promise

VayloMail does not promise the following.

  • Unlimited hardware capacity or storage.
  • Guaranteed inbox placement, sender reputation or delivery time. Receiving providers apply their own filtering, throttling and delivery policies.
  • An uptime SLA. VayloMail does not currently offer a contractual uptime SLA, and brief outages for kernel updates and security patching may occur.
  • A measured concurrency benchmark. There is no fixed service-level cap on concurrent IMAP connections, but capacity depends on the server and the workload.
  • Automatic end-to-end encryption of every message. TLS is configured for supported mail connections.
  • Migration help.
  • Office-suite features such as documents, calendars or video calls.

Questions, answered

Is VayloMail a shared mail service?
